It is a false privilege to seem to extract ourselves from the messy mosaic of life by reaching for, upholding and hiding behind, spiritual truths that end up serving a sense of entitlement.

Recently, a contemporary spiritual teacher in the nondual tradition invited me to have a conversation for a video blog on the topic of ‘The Shadow and Its Integration’.

SHE told me

in HER unmistakable way.

reluctantly.

I will take two pens to write this. One can dip into the ink of understanding. Under the reign of the sun. May the other dip into the ink of my body where the known mingles with obscurity, rippling its promises and uncertainties, echoing through my blood, shaping my longing, under the moonlight.

Come with me, down in the here of the now, through the crack in your language. Descend into the dark silence, before the words you long for, arise, that will shape your experience and give you relief.

We all remember or experience blessed moments in which our true nature of pure undivided and universal Awareness, echoes at the emotional, tactile, and sensual levels of experience.

Many of us resonate with the understanding that what we truly are is universal, infinite, and ever-present Awareness. In those timeless moments of recognition, the conceptual belief in separation and the felt experience of being a physical, solid, limited, and located body are absent.

All of us who come to Awakening Clarity share a great love and interest in our true nature. Our heart and our mind deeply resonate with the understanding that what we are is unlimited, open, universal, infinite, divine, and ever-present awareness.

For the past four years, in a group with three other women, I am mentoring under the guidance of Janet Adler, a reputed dance movement therapist, a key figure in the development of Authentic Movement, a film-maker, academic writer, wife and mother.
